It Can't Happen Here
Fall 2017
It Can't Happen Here is a play set in 1930's America, toward the end of the Depression era and the presidential election is morally divisive and uneasy. The man eventually named to the Presidency ushers in a wave of fascism never before seen in this country and a revolution begins. We had a cast of fifteen and all but one played from two to five characters each. Every costume required under and/or overdressing to create easily removable or add-able layers so each character could be distinguished from another and to suit the incredibly fast pace of the show.
*My designs were completed before the show was cast and color was added afterward, as there were no builds.

Unrealized Designs for
Alice in Wonderland
2016
In the fall of 2016, I participated in a Design class (Thar 24 at Santa Rosa JC) in which our final project was to work with a team on an unrealized production of Alice in Wonderland. I was partnered with a lighting designer and we set our concept in the Victorian era, choosing to widen the lens of our storytelling and world design through a diverse cast- combining Victorian sensibilities with various bits of African culture and symbolism.

These productions for Transcendence are very much curated shows in which I purchase, pull and borrow clothing from the performers- shaping a cohesive world for them to inhabit. These shows are created in a fast paced environment, with up to twenty four performers needing seven to ten "Looks" each.
Select Examples of Construction
2016-2018
Below are three examples of full costumes I've completed. The First Dress was assembled for the Great Dicken's Fair event last year and was a personal project. The pink dress for The Music Man was constructed according to the designer, Maryanne Scozzari's vision as was Flounder's yellow and blue ensemble. The final photo is of one of many masks and headpieces I constructed from wire, paper and fabric for SRJC's 2018 production of Into the Woods.
